Your story, my purpose

I’m Nina—the heart behind Moss & Moon Celebrant—and my journey into this work has been deeply shaped by both personal experience and the natural world. The name Moss & Moon reflects the rhythmic cycles of life, something I’ve come to understand intimately through my work as a rare breed shepherd. Spending countless hours immersed in nature, witnessing life, growth, and transformation, has grounded my approach to every ceremony I create.

Over the years, I’ve attended and delivered many weddings and funerals, and through these experiences, I came to feel strongly that such meaningful moments don’t need to follow a rigid script. Instead, they can be honoured in ways that feel truly authentic and personal. Having also experienced significant loss myself, I understand just how important it is to find a celebrant who genuinely resonates with you—someone who can hold space with care and honour your story with sincerity and compassion.

This passion led me to formally train with the International College of Professional Celebrants, and I’m proud to also be a supplier for the Natural Wedding Company. Whether I’m creating a wedding, vow renewal, elopement, commitment ceremony, naming ceremony, or something beautifully unique, my role is to gently guide you in shaping a ceremony that feels unmistakably yours.

My environmental background and deep connection to the land naturally weave into my work. Living in tune with the seasons has shown me the beauty of simplicity, authenticity, and connection—not only to nature, but to each other and to life’s most meaningful milestones. This influence brings a grounded, heartfelt, and organic feel to every ceremony I create.

Ritual has always played an important role in my life, and I love helping people discover the elements that resonate most with them. Whether that’s a traditional handfasting, jumping the broom, a wine box ceremony, or something more reflective like a grief mandala, we can create something that feels just right for you.

With a celebrant-led ceremony, there are no limits—just possibilities. Whether you’re dreaming of an outdoor Yorkshire Dales barn wedding (one of my personal favourites), or something entirely different, your ceremony can take place anywhere and be shaped exactly as you wish.

I’m often described as a calming presence—someone who brings warmth, professionalism, and a steady, reassuring energy (always helpful on big days!). Most importantly, I’ll be by your side throughout the entire journey, offering support, guidance, and care, so you feel truly held as we create and celebrate your special moment together.
