Edwina is fully insured with the Association of Independent celebrants

What is a Celebrant?

A celebrant offers a more personal alternative to a registrar, vicar or other faith leader.

We also offer more creative, family/community centred end of life ceremonies.

Your ceremony can take place wherever you choose and be designed entirely around you or your loved one.

Can a Celebrant also undertake the legal part of a marriage ?

Not yet — although there are plans for the law to change in the future so that qualified celebrants can legally marry couples. For now, the legal paperwork is completed separately at a register office. After that, you are free to celebrate your wedding with a celebrant-led ceremony anywhere you choose.

Where Can I have my marriage celebration?

Absolutely anywhere! we just love outdoor weddings and handfastings at sacred sites

Can we write our own Vows

Absolutely ! I will help you to craft this

Do we get a marriage certificate

Yes you will be provided with a certificate on the day to sign and keep as a memory - the actual legal marriage certificate is now electronic.

Is this really a fake wedding? Absolutely not!

If you think about a funeral, it is in parts - you register the funeral, then the service is usually weeks later, this is just the same. Using a celebrant means you have far more control over what you want and where you want.

Do you do Pet Funerals

Yes we do, Nina works with Tan Moor Memorial Woodland in Skipton where you can book a place for your pets funeral. I also make living rugs as part of my smallholding which are idea for many uses including regulating temperature especially for old and ill pets. Some clients use these as shrouds when the pet also die as a comfort for the pet. www.crowkeld.co.uk

What is your environmental policy?

Our work is centred on celebrating nature and renewal. We work with people and the rhythms of the natural world to tell their stories in a way that feels authentic to them, always with care for the environment in mind.

When Nina is not working as a celebrant, she is a rare breed shepherd in the Yorkshire Dales, living and working closely with nature every day. This connection grounds her and constantly reminds her of how precious life, love, and the stories we share truly are.

When Edwina is not working as a celebrant she runs a herbal medicine clinic, forages for wild medicines and food and also runs nature based community based courses on herbal medicine and foraging. She is an shamanic practitioner, spinner of wool, and drum maker.

The way we live our life is by its own eco policy, it is naturally embedded into everything that we do.

Moss & Moon is an inclusive and welcoming space. We work with people of all backgrounds, identities and beliefs, creating ceremonies that honour who you are and the stories that matter to you.
